5 die in different incidents in north Kerala

Kozhikode, Jun 12:Five people, including three children, were killed in separate incidents in the northern district of Kerala today.

Police said two children were drowned after they fell into a pond at Chiyanoor in Malappuram district this noon.

The deceased were identifed as Aneesh and Rameesh, both 9, they said.

Another child Mohammed Zinan (2.5) died similarly at Mavoor in this district this morning.

In the third incident, a youth died in a car-tanker collision at Vayypparapadi near Manjeri in Malappuram district, police said.

They identified the deceased as Rajiv Madhavan (35).

In yet another mishap, a woman was electrocuted at Velladukkam Chittarikkal in northern most Kasargod district.

Police said Bindu (26), who was spreading clothes for drying, died of shock after she came into contact with electric meter in her house this morning.
