KCCI Offers to mediate in Apple a Day issue

Kochi, Jun 14 : Expressing their anguish and concern over the current scandal involving Apple a Day Properties, a leading real estate developer in Kerala, Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today said they were ready to mediate in the issue and find an amicable solution.

Suggesting that the owners of the Apple a Day proprietors should be given an opportunity to express their views and come out with solutions, KCCI said ''as the matter was now pending before the Kerala High Court, we have requested the Chairman, Kerala State Legal Service Authority (KELSA), to give us an opportunity to mediate in the issue.'' Informing this at a news conference, KCCI Chairman Deepak L Aswani said the KCCI had proposed to constitute a panel of expert committee consisting of directors of the KCCI, leading advocates, eminent engineers and architects, certified chartered accountants or representatives suggested by the KELSA for the purpose.

Emirates Airline offers package for children

Thiruvananthapuram, May 29:Emirates Airline, the Dubai-based international airline, has launched its summer bonanza offer ''Summer Smiles in Dubai'', offering families with children under 12 years an incredible offer while they visit Dubai this summer.

Passengers, who book a three-night package with select hotels in Dubai before September 30, can have up to two children under the age of 12 years to fly at 50 per cent off the adult fare while their stay, meals and play in Dubai is absolutely free when travelling with two paying adults, according to a press release here today.

The Summer Smiles in Dubai package begins at INR 82,227, which comprises a three-night stay for two adults and two children which includes the visa cost for the children.

The visa cost for the two adults is not a part of the package.

Moreover, the two children will have free entry to a wide range of Dubai's most exciting attractions and free rides on the Dubai Metro, ensuring an action packed family vacation.

This offer also comprises Meet and Assist at Dubai International Airport, return airport transfers (seat in coach), as well as hotel taxes and service charges.

Summer Smiles in Dubai is valid for all passengers flying on Emirates to Dubai or beyond, it said.

The package includes incredible discounts throughout the city, including the world's largest shopping mall, The Dubai Mall, which will help ensure families make good use of the increased Emirates free baggage allowance, it said.

Emirates operates 12 weekly flights to Trivandrum and a total of 185 weekly flights to ten Indian destinations including Trivandrum.

Bihar offers land for AMU centre

The Bihar government has offered 250 acres of contiguous land for an Aligharh Muslim University (AMU) centre, becoming the fourth such state after Kerala, West Bengal and Maharashtra.

The Bihar government has identified the land in Kishanganj district, along the highway to Bahadurganj.

A team led by AMU Vice Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis will soon visit Kishanganj to select a suitable site and discuss other relevant issues with the district officers.

According to Aziz, Maharashtra has also decided to establish an AMU centre in the state.

The AMU centres in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Malappuram in Kerala have already become functional.
