Southwest Monsoon sets in Kerala, Lakshadweep

Thiruvananthapuram, May 29: Southwest Monsoon set in Kerala and Lakshadweep today.

According to Meteorological Department here, conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of Arabian Sea and some parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu during next two to three days.

Strong onshore wind from Westerly direction with speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph was likely along and off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hrs commencing from 1400 hrs today.

Heavy to heavy rainfall exceeding 13 cm will occur at isolated places in Kerala. Rainfall exceeding seven cm will occur at isolated places in Lakshadweep till the morning of May 31.
