Heavy rain in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, May 29 : Rain occurred at most places in Kerala and at many places in Lakshadweep, today.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall was reported from Kumarakom (Kottayam district) 14, cm Cherthala (Alappuzha) 12 cm, Irinjalakuda (Thrissur) 11 cm, Kottayam and Mancompu (Alappuzha) 10 cm each, Haripad (Alappuzha) 9, Kochi Air Port and Aluva (Ernakulam), Kayamkulam (Alappuzha) and Vaikom (Kottayam) 8 cm each and Kozhikode 7 cm.

The other chief amounts of rainfall was at Karipur Air Port (Malappuram) 6 cm and Chengannur (Alappuzha) 5 cm.

Rain/thundershower will occur at most places in Kerala and at many places in Lakshadweep.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur in Kerala and heavy rainfall will occur Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.

Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55kmph is likely along off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours, a weather bulletin here said.
