THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala high court on Monday set aside a decision of the Kerala University to cancel the PhD registration of former chief minister VS Achuthanandan's son V A Arun Kumar.
The order came on an appeal by Kumar against an order of the single bench, which had upheld the university's decision. '' The HC set aside the cancellation and asked the university to reconsider it,'' Kumar's counsel told TOI.
Kumar had registered for the PhD programme in Bio-Informatics in 2005. After he completed six months of the programme, allegations surfaced that Kumar didn't have the requisite seven years' teaching experience. Following the controversy, the university cancelled his registration in 2008.
