4th meet of Malayalam Wikigroup inaugurated

Kannur, Jun 11 : Dr B Iqbal, former Vice-Chancellor of Kerala University, today inaugurated fourth meet of Malayalam Wikigroup at Kannur Library distirct Council hall here.

As many as 80 people including school students and eminent writers attended the meet along with WIki media foundation representatives Hisham Mundol, Bishaka Dutta and Tory Reed, who contributed and worked with Malayalam Wikipedia of the Wiki media project.

Mr Hisham Mundol released a CD containing articles selected for the Wiki Library by handing over it to Sai Ram, a 7-year-old boy of Kollam district.

The Malayalam Wikipedia is the Malayalam language edition of Wikipedia, a free and publicly editable online encyclopaedia, and was launched on December 21, 2002. As per the Wikipedia, the Malayalam Wiki project is the leading Wikipedia among other South East Asian language Wikipedias in various quality matrices, a release said.
