Kannur, May 27 : Kerala Grama Panchayat Minister K C Joseph today said that the United Democratic Front (UDF) government would give priority to obtain the funds from the Centre for taking up rural development activities.Talking to mediapersons here, he pointed out that a major chunk of the central assistance was now being utilised by northern states due to lack of schemes in southern states.
The Minister said he would give priority to set up Hill Area Development Authority, hill highway and taluks for speedy development in rural areas.
He said a meeting was called on May 30 and 31 by all the five department heads under his ministry to verify the functioning.
