He also asked who was going to rule the state. "Is it the Congress or the UDF or somebody else?," he asked. Mr Vijayan also noted that persons who had cases pending were made ministers in the cabinet.
Lashing out at the new government, he flayed the trifurcation of the Department of Local Self-Government under three Ministers. He said the trifurcation of the department into separate departments would only lead to the demolition of the decentralisation initiatives.
He also alleged that Finance Minister K M Mani's statement that a white paper on the condition of the State's economy only showed that the liberalisation policies were coming back to the state. "When the LDF government handed over the administration to the UDF, the treasury had Rs 2,100 crore. So what is the reason behind bringing out a white paper now," he asked.
