Kunhalikutty, Muneer to quit party posts

Kozhikode, May 28 : Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Kerala General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty and Secretary M K Muneer would quit their posts in confirmity with one-man-one-post norm adopted by the party.

Talking to newspersons at Malappuram, Mr Kuhalikutty, inducted into Congress-led United Democratic Front government as Industries Minister, said he would quit the post soon to uphold the decision taken by the party a few months ago.

All other MLAs elected in the April 13 Assembly poll would also follow suit, he said.

Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer said he would also quit the post as per the party norm.

Talking at a meet the press programme organised by the Calicut Press club here, Mr Muneer said he would submit his resignation on the dierctive of the party.

The party had decided to maintain one man one party norm to enable elected members and office bearers to concentrate in their respective fields adequately.
