Kozhikode, May 23 : Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan today announced that he would boycott the swearing in ceremony of a few more ministers as part of expansion of Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's cabinet to be held later this evening at Thiruvananthapuram. The boycott by Muraleedharan, son of former Chief Minister and Congressman, late K Karunakaran, points to brewing resentment among party functionaries who were denied ministerial berths in the new government which assumed power after scrapping through in the April 13 Assembly elections, over LDF.Talking to a gathering of his supporters, who gave a grand reception to him on his arrival at Kozhikode Railway Station, Mr Muraleedharan charged that nobody (apprently referring to the Congress and the UDF had shown even basic courtesy to invite him to the function to be held at Raj Bhawan.
However, Mr Muraleedharan, elected from Vattiyurkavu in Thrissur district defeating Independent candidate Cheriyan Philip, said he, as a legislator, would extend full support to the ruling coalition in the House.
Muraleedharan, who was in political wilderness after his suspension from the party six years ago, returned to its fold on intervention of party High Command recently after continued efforts.
