Endosulfan production banned in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, May 27:The Kerala government has banned the production of Endosulfan in the state with the cancellation of the license of Hindustan Insecticides Limited (HIL) for producing the killer pesticide.

Talking to reporters here, State Health Minister Adoor Prakash said the license of HIL at Eloor for the production of endosulfan has been cancelled.

However, the company could produce other pesticides with certain conditions, he said.

With regard to private practice of doctors, Mr Prakash said private practice would be allowed based on certain conditions after having discussions with doctors.
